Brielle completed her first homework assignment! She received a rubber duck and had to name it and write a report about her duck. Here is her story.
The Duck in the Lake with the
Diving Board

My duck's name is Shantell. She is cute and small. She is cool. She likes swimming in the lake with her mom and dad and her friends and her brothers and sisters. Her brothers and sisters are really nice. She and her friends wanted a diving board for the lake. She typed a note to the owner of the lake to ask for a diving board. She got the diving board. She did a front flip. It was awesome.

Speaking of lucky ducks, I am one lucky duck for being the father of Brielle. She has a fun adventurous spirit and I love her big much.
PS. Brielle enjoyed her first school lunch. It was a hotdog with mustard and ketchup.

T-y and Bre went to the dentist this morning. T-y had 1 cavity and Bre had 5. The dentist put shiny silver caps on Brielle's offending teeth. She now has more bling in her mouth then I have in the bank!

Brielle lost her 5th tooth today and doesn't know where she lost it. She was eating an Egg McMuffin at the time of loss. Interested parties should report promptly to our house. Bring your own rubber gloves.

Bre-Bre lost her second front tooth while camping. I was rather relieved to here her this, as it had been dangling from her mouth for the last couple of weeks. She lost it while she was taking a drink. She was all worried about the tooth fairy wouldn't be able to find her. I reassured her that the tooth fairy knew where we were, but might not be able to get to where we were. I convinced her that it would be best to put it under her pillow when we got home. Luckily she was OK with this idea, as the Tooth Fairy left his wallet in the car.

It would appear that the Tooth Fairy pulled out Brielle's tooth while she slept last night. I have been bugging Brielle to pull out her tooth for the past week or so. I was bugging her so much about it that she would say that I couldn't pull out her tooth every time I called her name. Needless to say, she was annoyed with me.
Her tooth was barely hanging on, so I decided to pull it out while she slept. It took a slight yank and it was out. The only problem was that I couldn't get it out of her mouth. I had to wake her and tell her to spit it out. I don't think she really knew what had happened. She fell right back to sleep.
I woke her up this morning and asked her where her tooth was. She exclaimed, "In my mouth! She immediately stuck her tongue in the space where her tooth was and noticed something weird. "My tooth is gone!" Then she got a big smile on her face as she looked in her mirror and noticed that it was gone. She later asked me if I took it out while she slept. She is one smart girl.
I don't like it when my kids lose their front teeth. To me it makes them no longer seem like a little kid anymore. I am sad that her tooth is gone, but look forward to her transformation into a beautiful young lady.

I took Brielle to get a haircut today. She was really excited. I took her to see my hair engineer, Dr. Laura. At least thats what I call her. :) It was fun to see my little girl act so big. She was very polite and very chatty. It helped that Brielle and Laura take Karate at the same Studio. After Laura finished the cut, she started to roll brush Brielle's hair. Here is a sample of conversations they had:
Brielle: I don't like my hair curly.
Laure: I'm not putting curls in your hair. I am putting some rolls in it.
Brielle: I don't like rolls in my hair. I like it straight. My mommy straightens it.
Laura: Ok. We will straighten it.

Bre Bre wasn't feeling very well today. She has had a fever for most of the day. To keep her fever down, I let her play out in the snow, without shoes and a coat. How does that saying go? Feed a cold, Freeze out a Fever? Thank heavens for Advil and Tylenol.
Bre Bre has been extra cuddly today because of this. She has also been very inquisitive today. She has been asking a lot of random questions and wanting to know how and why things work. I think the fever and the medicine were making her delirious. Here is one of the random conversations that we had:
Bre Bre: We need to go on a vacation.
Me: Just me and you?
Bre Bre: No. The whole family.
Me: Ok. Lets go pack everybody's stuff and go.
Bre Bre: Not today, but someday. We need to rent an RV.
Me: An RV? Do you know what they are?
Bre Bre: Duh! It's a house on wheels.
Me: Why do you want to rent a RV?
Bre Bre: Cause I can sleep, or eat, or go poop while you are driving.
Me: Where do you want to go?
Bre Bre: To Idaho.
Me: Ok. I will check into it.
I guess I should look into renting a RV.

Brielle wanted to help cook tonight and much to Amanda's dismay, she chose to make pigs in a blanket. It was as easy as wrapping the hot dogs in Pillbury crescent rolls. The only problem with the recipe is that it calls for a working oven. The heating element of the oven decided to burn out while it was preheating the oven. Luckily the Owens have a working oven, so we went over there and finished cooking them.

Brielle thinks of herself as a tomboy. She doesn't like to wear anything but long pants, short sleeved shirts(without buttons or collars), boxers, and low cut socks. She doesn't like to wear any bows or clips in her hair. She has a style all her own. She is stubbornly sweet and to quote her "sexy". I love her personality and am very proud to be her dad.
Shantell put Bre's hair in pigtails today. Bre started to through a fit but allowed Shantell to put her hair in pigtails. Here are a couple of pix that I snapped of her. She is quite the character when it comes to getting her picture taken. She has a lovely smile, but often shows her fake smile during pictures. Maybe this is due to the fact that I like to take a lot of pictures of my kids.
